adding colour bars (action list)

First off, I am not happy that we had to purchase PitStop Professional after buying PitStop Server, just to edit action lists, but I will get over that eventually.

What we need to do is add specific colour bars to PDF's prior to running them through our rip.

We have tried creating a new action list to place the image of the colour bar, we have tried modifying the "add color bar" action list, but cannot get it to import an image.

Any help will be appreciated.

Andrew

What's wrong with having to get Pro to make action lists?

It's easy enough add the color bars or any other object(s). Which version of PitStop and PitStop Server are you using?

PitStop Professional 7.0.1
PitStop Server 3.5.1

My problem with having to purchase Professional is that one would think that that capacity would be built into software as pricey as Server. Anyway, moving on.

Our problem is with getting the image to place. There doesn't seem to be a way to copy and image into add/remove - add copy graphic. The error says Line 2 no sample was grabbed.

I am sure we are simple concept here, but we are at a brick wall with this.

Your help is appreciated.

Andrew

You're 9/10th of the way there. Sounds like you've got all the things in order, you're just missing a button or two, a selection. Maybe a copy/paste...

You're closer than you think...

Okay, we got it to work when using the run action in Acrobat, and it works nicely.

When I import the action into server and run it in a workflow, it puts the colour bar in behind the document (at first we thought it just didn't do it, but selecting the whole document shows the outlines of the colour bar in behind everything)

Is this possibly a bug in server or?????

thanks again for your help!

Andrew
