Gripper at Bottom

We've just installed Dynagram 4.5 and wonder if someone can help.
Two rules I've been taught in printing are
1. Grip to the head
2. Grip to the lowest folio
However when placing a signature in Dynastrip, by default the option is Gripper (at bottom). If we use this setting all pages will have to be rotated 180 degrees when setting up a signature. Is there an option to change setting to Gripper (at top)?

When placing the signature in DynaStrip, you can hold alt to centre the signature and type in a grip. As you know, this says grip at bottom. There is no way to change this, but you can ignore it if you like.

Try this. Instead of holding alt when you place the signature, you can tap the space bar (tap, not hold!). After tapping the space bar, a diagonal green line appears. There are X,Y co-ordinates at the bottom left of the window. These co-ordinates are of one end of the green line, using the other end of the green line as an origin. That is to say, the co-ordinates of the bottom left corner of the signature using the bottom left corner of the sheet as an origin. You can move the ends of the green line about simply by clicking. Try clicking on the top centre of the signature and the top centre of the sheet. The X,Y co-ordinates may now be typed in as a zero horizontally (centred), and a negative amount vertically (grip).

Or what most people can do is forget what they were taught about gripping in the heads. Can you think of a good reason why this is necessary? I would only go to the bother of gripping in the heads if there were risky registration at the head end of a job.

Having said that, if you invest the time in getting your sheets looking exactly how you want them, then you should export them for future use. In sheet mode, at the bottom of the action list are the tools to save an load sheets. A single sheet template is good for any length of job, even if there's a work and turn needed.

Stand on your head while doing impo. That works for me. Dynastrip is a funny little program. I just remember that in my prepress world, everything is upsidedown from Pressman world.
