Has anyone here used Metrix from Litho Technics for imposition?
We have used preps for years and are looking at other options. This one sounds interesting but I haven't heard of any user experiences.

Maberry's shop uses Metrix - you can ask him.

I use it as well as Preps.

My vote is for Dynastrip. It's easy to use and not too much math. We're using Preps right now and some operators here have dyslexia when it comes to numbers. :?

I have ECRM Harliquin RIP, w/PDF workflow, CTP and filmsetter. I highly recommend Preps. I have been using the software for 10 years. As far as a plug in for Acrobat, Enfocus Pitstop,
THE BEST.

Smile Prinect Signa 1.5

Prinect Signa is awesome, has a great step by step interface which after the initial learning phase is great to use. Have used this pretty rock solid for a couple years with no problems. Mark is right, it is so easy to generate impos for one press and then switch to another, as its JDF based you have the plate right on the screen in front of you. You can also montage jobs for sheetwork, single-sided, perfect etc. dead easy, just place a page and move it around, it automatically mirrors the back for sheetwork, then check your
press sheet previews to make sure its sweet. Another good feature is you can make up page schemes such as an 8pp SW section for a 74cm press.
So if you do alot of saddled mag work you would just enter the number of pages eg 32pp then apply the type of press and sheet size, apply the 8pp scheme and it will duplicate the appropriate amount of press sheets automatically. Then check press sheet preview make sure it looks right then whack a colour bar on add apply that automatically to all sheets , maybe change the grip then click once and apply to all.

I have lately used dynastrip which isnt bad but nowhere as easy to use as preps. I used to think preps was the best you could get till I found Metrix from Litho Technics

LithoTechnics - Metrix, the automatic layout calculator for commercial and gang run printing

Demo movies

Index of /learning/Help Movies

Used JDF import to ApogeeX and its AMAZING!!!!!!!
If you dont have JDF it can make preps templates. It also can print out an Impo preview with all you measurments on it so your printers cant complain (as if they ever do!)

Check it out
Its the future
