Fuji chemistry-free plates?
Anyone have any experience with these?

from what I could tell, new Fuji customers would get first dibs, customers purchasing new hardware would be next, then existing users...

the pressman isn't so sure we should try them. He wondering where all the stuff goes coming off the plates; if its not cost effective and they're not going to have a good supply whats the point?

We'll be trying them as soon as they're available to us. Our lead pressman had the same concern. My response to that was "Yeah, I'm sure Fuji hasn't considered that. I'm sure they've put all that money into R&D and never thought about whether the plates will work on press." That was enough for him to at least consider trying them.

Neckbone:
That's exactly what the Fuji techs are hoping you would say. Just remember that "Matter can neither be created nor destroyed" so it has to go somewhere and that somewhere is your ink train/dampening system/rollers etc.
"Yeah, I'm sure Fuji hasn't considered that. I'm sure they've put all that money into R&D and never thought about whether the plates will work on press."

That may be. But, it doesn't mean they're not worth trying. I've had a good relationship with Fuji for a while, and I'm not about to dismiss this product based on the speculation of my press operator.

From what I hear from the people using them, they have to run over the plates by hand with some solution that they got from Ennovation because their presses weren't cleaning the plates off well enough. They're running old machines. I don't know if that has something to do with their problem or not. Other than running into that, it sounds like the plates work fine for them.

PKM...
I suspect this may be one reason Fuji
has been demonstrating their pending
chem-free violet plate with a gumming/
clean-out unit... kinda' like :Azura - eh?

I'm not sure. We're using their plates and they are a lot better than Sword Excel were.
This was another company that I have family at. I'm not sure what they were told.
