Snap-Shot of Agfa's Violet Chem-Free Plate (Technology Demo)

PPFers...

Several have asked me privately if
Agfa's chem-free violet plate shown at
Ipex last week (in a technology demon-
stration) had an image, like our Azura
chem-free thermal plates. yep!

Unlike some other chem-free plates
shown at Ipex (both thermal and violet
technology demos), Agfa's chem-free
plates are customer friendly...

Look - here's a snap-shot from the show -
coming out of the guming unit. (Can your
press minders deal with this? I think so!)

http://www.prepressforums.com/module...ders/steveagfa

(You'll notice that I have since posted two images -
one low res, and one hi res... low res looks fine to view.)

And remember - this plate will work with current
photopolymer-capable violet devices - both
30 and 60mW - as we showed both at the show!

Regards,

Brilliance...

The demo was quite simple - you didn't miss much.

Since we didn't have an on-line interface yet
(heck - it's still early), we took the plate
post-imaging, from within the bright yellow
safelight environment, and ran it through a
simple gumming unit that has a small pre-heat
before the gum. Similar footprint to our Azura
gumming unit. Low-tech, low-muss, low-fuss.

When we do decide to release the product -
of course it can be handled in a white-light
environment, as one now does with our auto-
mated Palladio, Galileo or Advantage/Polaris
newspaper devices. Or, of course, manual
devices can be used in a bright yellow-light room.

The chem-free violet plate was demo'd on our new
Avalon LF Violet - manual version. Soon after its
actual release, we'll also have fully automated,
and single cassette "job-level" automation.

So now - the choice is yours - thermal or violet;
both will deliver on the promise of processless.
It's more of a best fit scenario for each customer.

Regards,
