I agree that 360 is not for quality but I have to try it to please my higher ups!

Well, the upper management obviously did not read the brochures nor pay any attention to the salesman, or maybe the salesman lied.
Print the same file on the same paper at 360, 720, and 1440. That should speak for itself.
If not, have the higher ups contact five color management specialists in your area and ask them what they recommend the 360dpi mode for.
