Black replacement in Onyx

I don't think this is possible, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway.

When I get blacks coming into Onyx from multiple, various applications, they are always coming in with different CMYK builds. When I print (to my HP 5500) with these builds, they are okay. However, a lot of them come out more grayish due to so much of each ink being put down.

If I replace said color with a 100% black only color replacement, I get a nice, rich black.

Is there anyway to do this automatically? I thought about GCR/UCR, but I don't really think this would be the solution I'm looking for.

Thanks,
Jon
