Do you use Image Control also for reading the profile targets? About 30 seconds to read the sheet and you are done!!! Fastest way to generate a profile in the world...although I do not think anyone can justify Image Control just to read IT8 targets

For those not familiar with Image Control, it is used for QC for press during the run. It is a spectrophotometer that reads the whole press sheet to compare to the digital master provide by prepress for ink key setting or an OKed sheet. The key here is it is reading the whole sheet, not just color bars. If the sheet drifted, the press operation just hits a button and it will pull it back in. Reads a full 8 up sheet in 30 seconds flat. This is over 160,000 measurements. So using it to generate profiles will spoil a color guru. Here is a link :
