What was your option w/ Prinergy4, did they have a color solution to replace your EFI when you installed Prinergy a few weeks ago?
i love the quick reply!

> We also feed our 2 Epson 9800s with EFI.
Would that be EFI ColorProof?
EFI ColorProof
GMG ColorProof
Meta ColorProof
I suggest a steel-cage death match between all interested contenders for use of the term "ColorProof"...We could all then beat to death the winner with handheld spectrophotometers for lack of originality.

First off, there's no shortage of options w/ Prinergy!
We chose to keep the EFI front end (just for the Epsons)... We use the Prinergy functionality (Harmony) for the plating curve.

Hi hagar_uk,
No, while it is true that we are using some modules from EFI/Bestcolor, our MetaDimension option ColorProof Pro is an independent application. The cornerstone of a good color true proof is color management, and this is our own genuine Heidelberg technology, with the legacy and experience I outlined in my earlier post.
Given the diversity of printers to support we have come to the decision that rather than reinventing the wheel we should cooperate with somebody who had done this work already. Thus, we are licensing the printer drivers and related functions from EFI. We have a friendly OEM relationship with them on this. In the market though both companies are independently finding their clientele.

The beauty of ColorProof Pro is the tight integration with our workflow. Thank you for your positive comment on this. Now, off on vacation.
Regards,
Mark
PS Clod, how about we rename the sw Pro Colorproof or ColorPro Proof or ProofPro Color?

in our case, Rampage can handle color managed proofs, but when we made the switch to Rampage, there were some issues with it - so we decided to go with ORIS..
the ICC option from Rampage was just about the same cost of buying a ORIS license...
they get you somewhere.

Sort of the same boat for us. While we bought a used RAMpage system that came with the ICC option and can drive our Epson we found that getting it calibrated and then maintaining that was much simpler with EFI.

Were running Agfa ApogeeX and using their color management software, ColorTune Pro. We've been very happy, almost never have any press match issues, only if there has been a mechanical problem with our proofers (3 Epson 9600's).

We use Heidelberg's ColorProof Pro to manage our Epson 9800. We fingerprinted our presses and with the Prinect Image Control unit in the pressroom it does an outstanding job. Inkjet has come a LONG way in a relatively short time
