These products have not been released yet, but from what I understand the newer versions have new print head system, wider gamut, and a bit faster, but in noway a replacemnet in speed compared to the HP printers

what about color consistancy. i heard people had problems with HP's being consistent on color.

Got no idea, on the new Epsons, but from what I understand Epson has always been better than HP with colour hence why they have 70% market share of proofing market.

HP units in the past as far as pre-press have been used for imposition proofs where speed is the name of the game.

But that might start to shift now, with the new Z series units having new inks and Eye One photospectrometer units built in HP might start to make inroads into Epson Market. The New Z6100 which is available as 60inch is pretty amazing
