Proofing for 1% Scum Dots

Is there a way to have a program like pitstop automatically search for images that contain 1% dots or more effectively search for less than 5 %, through like an action?

Thanks

That what color profiles and tone ripro curves are for.

I've seen a 1% dot show up on proofs and not show up in print.

Just make a curve to compensate for that when proofing. That would be the easiest way.

I have to agree with him. As far as having Pitstop check automatically wouldn't it also pick up the 1% on gradiants or drop shadows? If it did then you would think you had scum dot when you didn't. Do you not run contract proofs, just low res for impostion?
