PPD problems

Hi:
I have two systems 10.3.8 and 9.2 running on my Mac G4. Recently we had a Kodak Approval XP4 installed at our place. We were given PPD's for both systems. The system 10 PPD's worked, but the PPD's for system 9 are not visible in the Printer Descriptions folder. The tech said that they worked on other Mac machines. How come we can't see them ? Any advise. Arnie

I had a similar problem when we installed Cromalin B2 here. The engineer had a cd with the ppd's on. Installed and they didn't work.

dah! roll

"they are fine on other macs??" they said.

Great I replied?make mine like theirs then?that stumped em!

In the end, I got them to copy a working ppd from a Mac they did work on, stuff the file and mail it to me. This got round the problem?

Sometimes you need to gzip the ppd file and copy it into: library/printers/ppds/contents/resources/en.lproj folder for it to be seen by osx.

I have had to do this with some printers drivers for our department and for quark.

Dennis Wyers.
