Iterative Profiles using PrintOpen 5

I'm looking for someone with PrintOpen 5 who is willing to help me create a few profiles for my proofer using PO5's iterative method.

Right now I'm going in circles with my software. (Fix one thing... mess up something else). Using the software to make the corrections for me via the iterative processes would probably solve my problem.

I can read in the charts and format them for PO5. Just don't have PO5 to process the data.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

What equipment/software are you working with now and what kind of problems are you having?

For profiles I have PMP 4.1.5 and I'm measuring with an iCColor.
Output is an HP5000 via Postershop (we already had it so we're trying to make it work).
Press profile was done with the help of someone else who used PO5.

I've been testing two papers for proofing and regardless of which I use, both of them are generally too saturated and have too much "punch" compared to the press. Right now we're using a little tweak (the same each time) to the colors in Postershop which is ok but I don't like that solution.

My last battle involved neutrals that weren't coming out properly. I relinearized and the problem in the neutrals (a cast) seems to have moved into certain colours while the grayscale is a better match to the press sheet. The linearization also appears to have boosted the saturation. (wasn't expecting that one)

I've tried a little profile editing but I keep going in circles. I've printed a couple ECI charts on the HP and I'll make a new profile in the next few days but I suspect I'll still be too saturated and the overall match won't be good.

I figured using PO5 to calculate the difference and adjust the profiles would make my life easier

Well, I don't have PrintOpen, but if the iterative process is anything like GMG, then the scenario you present may or may not work. GMG does not alter a standard ICC profile (besides the fact that they use aproprietary format), but rather alters the linked source target profile and proofing device profile...device link. Iteration adjusts compares target Lab and current value Lab and adjusts the actual CMYK data sent to the printer. If PO5 works in a similar fashion, PosterShop might need to support device link profiles in order for this to work. But like I said, I don't have PintOpen...I know someone who does though...email me off list and I'll see if this is possible.
