Gave up on testing. Color management doesn't work in the Import module. It's dead in the water to me without it. Still waiting on a fix. Belgium? Ya still there?

We are upgrading to 8.5 on 8/3/07 since the tech will be here, is there any
issues encountered by those of you that have already upgraded to this
version that I need to bring to his attention before he leaves at the end of the
day.

I upgrade this morning and had to go back to 8.4.4 because of an error. I talked to support and they said its a bug and It has been logged with development. I was getting the error when sending from quark 6 to a raster workflow. (module trapper description InternalError - Unknown error)

Well over here we upgraded and had to downgrade right away because of one major flaw. We couldn't send epsons. I guess the expose epson proof module is not working properly. A few other people have had trouble color managing files. Also, if you're using the total rip, check that the PDFTrapper is starting up correctly everytime you need it. Let it time out then try to re-engage it. We have had trouble with the PDF Trapper. We are running and intel mac server so it might be just problems with the mac. I haven't yet tested 8.5 on a PC server.

We have not yet upgraded, but just a question on your Epson problem... was it working in the previous version? We had a devil of a time getting our Epson workflow to work and it turned out to be the password of the TCP/IP communication... I guess the Epson default password is a single space on the spacebar (not very intuitive!!!). You may know about that already, but if not, it may solve your problem.

Well we have been running 2 Epsons prior to 8.5 for a few years now so I don't think it's the password that is cuasing this. I am starting to suspect that all the issues we are having is because we are running the rip on a Mac. When I installed 8.5 on one of the old PC servers it solved most of the issues we had on the Mac. We are still trying to get the mac to work. I am waiting for rev2 to come out. From talking to one of the AWS reps it should be out in about 4 weeks. Thanks for the troubleshooting help. It's much appreciated.

I had trouble with our CIP3 module. I hate it when it says "Unknown Error" what are you suppose to do? I was told it was logged with development. I'm back to 8.4.4b.
Oh well...

The upgrade to 8.5 went without any problems but the JDF workflow
does not work with this version.

The FTP to Purup module does not work in 8.5 Rev 1. Not many people still use the Purup Filmsetters I don't think, but we do!
