Spot colour transparencies into Artpro

Hi,

Got a little problem. I've been supplied a file in illustrator that uses transparency settings, opacity masks AND spot colours!! When I import into Artpro however it converts the spot colour into CMYK. Why? And is there a way round it?

Saving the illustrator file as a PDF should import correctly. What version of ArtPro are you using? and how are you saving the illustrator file?

Well, we're using Artpro version 8, and I'm importing the illustrator CS file directly, as we don't have a copy of CS, so I can't open it to resave it.
