Heh, I checked and we're still good through July.
We are a very small customer to them, maybe they just haven't updated the whatchimcallits and the hoosemithingies for us yet.

Tech talk? I hate it when they don't get their whatchimcallits and the hoosemithingies updated in a timely manner. :P

Exactly my point!
I've had very long talks with them about this! It's a sham that they made some major bug fixs in 8.2 that should be made into 8.1

They need to fix the bugs that they break before a new version.

Anyhow, I've installed it on my test box, and wow, I love the new xml features, and they finally got my epson bug fixed.

Devin
Devin,

Does it install into it's own 8.2 folder so I can keep 8.1 installed? I'm guessing it does but just want to double check.

Yes it does, I ve just installed it and you get a separate Nexus 8.2 folder. So you can easily swap between the two versions if necessary.

Thanks, I think I'm going to take the plunge tonight.

Well damnit. I guess my contract expired on the 15th... go figure. I had to ask the boss 3 times to verify and he kept saying June was the last month of the contract. Finally read it and it was the day this post was put up. Convenient, wouldn't you say?
Sounds like we are dumping the contract all together. No more beta testing for us

Damn, that sucks. No support and no software upgrades either.

I do and we've lost accounts due to antiquated rip software. We were on the final version of Pageflow then made the (leap) to Nexus 7.5. Figure that one out. :?

It wasn't until we weren't able to rip some supplied files and lost a couple accounts that the owner decided to spend some money on an upgrade.

Even with the upgrade the owner still scoffs at the price of the support contract. He even let the contract laps and we again started to find some files wouldn't rip unless resaved into older versions of that software (Indesign as an example). Needless to say we spend more and more time getting some files to rip the more out of date our rip gets.

As of today our support contract is still in effect. Next year at this time who knows.
