It has been a few years since I ran an Avantra 44 but I do remember many days trouble shooting errors. You should be able to run the machine with the outer door wide open, that is not where the error is comming from. If you have removed the end cap to the imaging drum (ie: to remove jammed film), when replacing the cap there are several triggers that have to be locked in. If one of these triggers in not locked in or is miss-alligned it can cause the error that your getting. I have also found that when one error comes up during startup, several others will follow that are not necessarily related to the original error. Many times if you can get the original problem fixed, the others go away. I hope this helps.
