Unable to save edited pdf's since 3.5

Hey Agfamites,

We recently went from 2.5 to 3.5. Since the upgrade, I'm no longer able to open pdf's currently in the workflow, make edits and resave them to the database. Is it a permissions thing or sharing thing? I use the mac client. Anyone have a clue?

Scott

We have noticed the same thing at our shop. We have both the mac and PC clients but neither will let us open and save a pagestore PDF. One work around is to export the PDF from pagestore and make the changes and resave, then put the file back in ApogeeX

Matt

P.S. I have emailed our Agfa installer about this question and when he responds I'll post it here.

Eureka!!

I have received a response from our Agfa guru. The good news is you can save changes to pdfs in pagestore but it takes an extra step then before. First open the pagestore PDF you want to edit then under the ApogeeX file menu select check-out. Next make your edits then under the ApogeeX menu select check-in and it should ask if you want to save the changes and answer yes. You should see a revise [1] in the revise column in pagestore. Now, we have found that you have to edit your job and re-place that pagestore pdf with the revised one before the changes are applied.

Good Luck

Huh... that's crazy.

Looks like if I turn off the CheckOut/CheckIn feature in the preferences, it'll let me save them too. What the hell is point of logging in anyway? My install guy had no clue.

Thanks msimkulet!

Scott
