bleed margin default? apogeeX

in apogeeX under the impositions tab while editing a job there is a box for bleed margin default.. can anyone explain to me what this setting does and how it will effect my print? thank you in advance.

What are you using as you imposition program? I'm using Preps 5.2.

The nearest I can tell is that if you want to set the bleed to a lesser amount than that defined in the pdf, you can do it here without having to create a new pdf with a smaller bleed amount. That's the only thing I can see it could be used for. Obviously, if you created a pdf with .125" bleed and then set this setting to .25, it's not going to create "more" bleed from something that isn't there to begin with, but it would work for clipping the bleed back in the pdf.

Thats right... and you can also type something like -6mm to create a 6mm white border around each page. Not that you'd probably ever use it, but its nice to know you can
