Apogee Series 3 RIP

Anyone care to comment on the differences between Update 5 & Update 6 for the Series 3 Rip?

I seem to have more problems (Rip errors, trapping issues, etc.) with Update 6.

I did catch a thread on the Apogee Users board where it was determined that a Quark 7 file with flattened transparencies would Rip with Update 5 but not with Update 6. I tested the sample PDF on my Rip with Update 6 and it did not Rip.

I have been tempted to switch back to Update 5.

Anyone care to comment.

It seems to me that alot of these so called upgrades both hardware and software are a scam. With all these upgrades to me it seems it's getting harder to trouble shoot files dealing with fonts, transparency etc. If update 5 works and 6 doesn't, I'd switch back. If that update cost you money--ask for your money back!!!
