ApogeeX Resources - where might I find something useful?

Hi all,

We're currently having ApogeeX 2.5 installed today - yes, today! I'm rather excited about this, because now (according to my boss), everything will truly be just the "press of a button" from supplied file to output... can't wait to see how this works... and to show the boss!

Anyway, in the past few days I've been trying to find information about ApogeeX, particularly in relation to Mac OS X 10.4.2 and Adobe CS2 software. I guess what I'm looking for is anything that might help me trouble-shoot the entire system (are my expectations as unrealistic as my boss's?). While I can see small snippets in the form of questions asked on this forum, there doesn't seem to be an FAQ containing all of the "warnings" and "workarounds" that people have experienced.

I was just wondering if somebody might know of some sort of resource for this info.

Naturally, the AGFA website contains no useful information at all, so that's a no-go.

Hoping someone can offer some suggestion.

Thanks,
Eoghan.

What was your old workflow? Did Agfa offer training? Maybe the installer can answer your questions. We have the old Apagee workflow and there is a problem we've had and some threads on this site have ask for advice on the same problem---When adding creep to a job that has graphics that cross over, a slice of the graphic is removed (not at the spine). Ask Agfa about this problem cause it happens often. I am wondering weather this has been addressed in the new version. Thanks

So, half a year later, how's that Apogee X running?

Your best resource for all Agfa questions is your own common sense. You probably know that by now. Most of the people who really understand it are either Belgian, or operate under some sort of corporate gag order. I suspect that service and support contracts are their biggest money makers so the incentive to offer information for "self-help" is less than zero. You can accomplish a lot by editing registry files or diving into the MSDE ( or SQL ) tables but that's a lot like juggling loaded guns.
