Layers in Acrobat, any help ?

hi guys,

I didnt know where to post this Q,
hope I can find the answer right here,
I got an Illy file from the costumer, its almost 170 page in one file, each page in separate layer, when I open the file in Acrobat I can see that layers, I have to on the layer and off it but I cant delete it ?.

What I am doing now is, open the file in Illy, save the pages one by one in separate file in acrobat with the page number, Do I have to do that 170 time?? or there is another way to do it using Illy or Acrobat?

hope some one can gave an answer,
thanks in advance,

Maria

If I'm not mistaken you can also open the layer of choice then "extract pages" to get each page as a separate PDF, then merge them together to make a single multi-page PDF. I've done it with a smaller number of pages and I think 170 pages would be tedious as hell but it's all I can think of.

No, best bet is to lock the PDF in the Finder. Open it up, delete the layers you don't want, save the PDF. Repeat the process until all 170 are saved.

If you need a programmatic way of doing this we'd need to talk about scripting. That's not cheap but it can certainly be worth it if there is enough of these files that you process.

Maria, if you want...if you've got a PDF file, I can get it into 170 separate PDF's pretty quickly I think. Then you'd just have to join the PDF's together. (I might even have a solution for that...

PM me if you want me to try it.
