Multithreaded?

Does anyone know if Acrobat is multithreaded (will utilize multiple processors). This might apply more to Distiller, but my shop uses a PDF workflow, so at some point or another, even large VDP jobs get processed through Acrobat. Do you know if Acrobat will utilize more than a single core/processor?

Thanks.

I don't thinks so but I am not sure.

What kind of a PDF workflow do you use?

Well, I don't know that our PDF workflow really has a name. It was sort of instated by Kodak/Nexpress. Everything ends up on a PC. Mac files are converted to PDF and then most of the editing is done on the PC side.
We're an all digital shop that accepts just about anything a client can give us (MS Office, Adobe CS, Quark...the usual). Any native format file we get we convert to PDF (generally distill, not export) and do most of the set up in Acrobat via a number of plugins, and then printed to postscript Digimaster 9110s or the PDF is printed via hotfolder to the Nexpress 2100 color press.
Not sure if that answers your question adequately - but here's another for you. Do you work with dual CPU systems or single? I'm with you, I doubt that Acrobat is multithreaded, and since I can't find much info on that aspect of it - I'm inclined to go with that feeling.

Thanks for the reply.

Have both. Single CPU G4, G5, Intel Core Single (mini) and Dual CPUs like g4, g5 and Intel Core Duos and Core 2 Duos. They are Universal for sure because they run much faster on Intel Macs than the previous CS2 and Acro 7
