Acrobat 6.0.2 & Pitstop

Hi,

I'm using Acrobat 6.0.2 professional with Enfocus Pitstop Professional 5.04 & Pitstop Server 2.03, Supertrap 1.0.01 on Windows 2000. I have been getting a few "Runtime Errors" so I'm wondering if there are any compatability problems with this combo?

Any ideas or stabs in the dark.

A little more specific on the error message. Are you refering to "time-outs" or "Frontier Runtime" the script software? I used the demo of Pitstop but never had error messages like you post.

I don't think the problem is in the combo. The problem is your OS. When did you last format your disk. When I was running Win 2000, I fomated my disk and reinstall the aps every 4 months. Now i'm runing XP and I only do this once a year or so. Changing to XP might be an option, if all the apps you are using now are compatible, that is.

Hi

Sparky, Please refer to "Runtime Error" By Smirk posted in this Forum.

Almaink, Pistop 5.04 has been working fine with Acrobat 6 but maybe this could be the problem?. I have noticed that once I trap my pdf with Supertrap 1.0.0.1 and use the "Eye Dropper" tool in Pitstop 5.04 to check what the cmyk values are the "Eye Dropper" tool reads the cmyk values wrong, but when I use the "Separation Preview" function in Acrobat 6 the cmyk values are correct. There seems to be a little glitch here.
I still don't know what to do about my 'Runtime error" problem. I don't think its a windows 2000 problem.

I wasn't aware you were on a PC, and "Runtime Frontier" is a scripting program and does cause errors if not compiled correctly. I was merely trying to clarify the situation.

Hey Smirk-

Sounds like you have something going on with your OS. Check your bios settings to make sure no one played with them. There really shouldn't be a need to reformat a drive unless you have someone playing around in areas that they shouldn't be in - to play it safe, make sure you have the latest service pack loaded and set up a user account this way your other users can't screw things up logged in under the admin account. One other suggestion is to partition or install a second drive and keep all your apps and working files on one drive or partition and keep your OS on the other, this will save you a great deal of time if you do need to reformat the partition. If the partition or additional drive suggestion doesn't appeal to you then i'd consider picking up a program such as Ghost to make an Image file of the drive.

Hi all,

I solved my problem. The problem was that I needed to update Supertrap 1.0.01 to Version 3.0.56, Now everything works fine.

Thanks for your suggestions all.
