Multiple versions of acrobat

Adobe says not to run multiple versions of acrobat on the same computer. Does anyone know if that means the same computer or the same user? I guess what I want to know is can I run acrobat 7 under one user account and have a second user account with acrobat 8 on it. Then when I need to use either one I can just log on to that user. It would be helpful to do this as we have customers still using 7 and some using 8 and not many of them know what they are doing.

I have Acro 7 and 8 running on my Mac... no probs.

I did have trouble with Acro 6 and 7 running on the same box.

Don't know if you can do it for multiple users on the same box, I only have one user login on mine, and it works great.

I have 6, 7, and 8 under the same user.
Since I installed 8, Distiller 6.x no longer works... I accidentally launched it yesterday - that's the only reason I know. I'll launch Acrobat 6 tomorrow and check it..
I've run 7 and 8 at the same time no problems.
Curious,
Vee

Arrow

I have 6, 7 and 8 and they all work no problem, .. on a Mac.

If you run Windows and try to install 8, it will uninstall previous version and you will be able to run only 8.

This is from my experience.

If I remember correctly, the same happened couple years ago when I installed CS2, Acrobat 7 uninstalled my version 6.

Joe'
What does your apps folder look like?? Do you group your applications in seperate folders e.g. Photoshop V1-10, Acrobat V4-8, Quark V1-7 etc.

Acrobat 4 & 5 are in their own folder in the OS 9 Applications folder and Acrobat 6 & 7 & 8 reside in their individual folders inside of the OS X Applications folder. I still use 4 and 5 to open and save files for our Quark 4 users still running OS 9. Most of the time you can't get them to place in Quark if they were created out of the later versions. Opening them in 4 or 5 and re-saving them usually does the trick for them.
