Acrobat 8 and Pitstop

I have never used Pitstop, would love to but I work for a publisher so once we create a PDF that's it, we never edit the PDF, we just go back to the app file and re-supply.

Anyway, I did just get Acrobat 8 and was blown away by the Print Production tools. Does Acrobat 8, on it's own, stand up at all to Pitstop, or is Pitstop just untouchable as far as the leader in PDF editing?

The Print Production tools are handy but no replacement for Pitstop in my opinion. Pitstop Pro is probably the most widely used tool due to it's affordability/toolset. There are more robust stand alone tools than Pitstop but with a much steeper price.
