Page information causes funky printing

I have a G5 1.8 gig machine that went alittle funky after installing a new printer. We ended up doing going to a achrive and install and then updated it to 10.3.9. When I try to print out of acrobat 6.0 prof and have page information on, the fonts go funky in the document. Boxes instead of fonts- on 1 printer. When I try to print out of Indesign CS2 and have page info on Printing fails-to that same printer. Where does adobe get the fonts for printing page information. Would Reinstalling Acrobat fix this??

Thanks

Were the boxes only printing on pages after page one of the document or was it also doing it on page one?

Have you cleaned your font cache yet? I'd start there.

Sounds like its more of a font issue then adobe... have you tried using different fonts that you know have worked in the past?

Cleaning the font cache fixed the font in the pdf file. But the font on the"page information" is still funky in Acrobat. In Indesign CS2 if I have page infromation on it goes to the printer and then just disapears. If i shut page infromation off. It prints fine. It is just to 1 printer. A HP 5550 Color printer. 3 other laser printers works fine. Other people with the same set up are printing fine. Where does Adobe get the font information for printing "page information"?

thanks

After talking to HP we found out that sending Files at PS level 3 gives the printer problems (even thought they sell it as a Level 3 Printer) We have started sending files as PS level 2 and updated the print driver and that seems to take care of the font problem in the pdf files and in page info on indesign. Page info on pdf files still comes out funky and anyone know how to fix that it would be great

thanks all

InDesign on my machine uses the Helvetica.dfont in the system folder for
the page info. I don't know of a way to change it either.
