PDFX1a 2003

Anyone utilizing PDFX1a 2003? What is the big difference from 2001??

PDF v1.4 support... Yes, I use it. But people kick it back because it doesn't conform to "PDF/X-1a" (PDF/X-1:2001). Which is what "everyone" is used to... Gee, go figure...

Basically, it's a PDF 1.4 (as Matt mentioned) but with flattened transparencies.

From my experiences, most people are still going with the 2001 version. Though it should be fine as long as you're running the latest and greatest.

The main reason i use PDX1a 2001 is because of our apogee system. If you drop in a 1.4 pdf it still asks me to put in a flatener task, even though it flatened already.

It doesn't see that its flatened, it just detects theres 1.4 objects in it.
