Pitstop Gurus (Dr. Matt)

All the sudden my Global/overprint black text does not work in pitstop. I am using the global change overprint black text. i checked my text to make sure it was indeed black. If I select the text by hand and use the pitstop select similar, than use the pitstop inspector/prepress to manually designate the text to overprint it still doesn't unless I check the "use illustrator overprint" The default is "standard overprint" Is it possible a preference was changed? Because the global overprint was working days ago.

If you are overprinting process you have to use Illustrator overprint mode or it won't overprint.

Good to know. What is the standard overprint for? That doesnt explain why my Global overprint wasnt working though. Who knows. Sometimes its best to not ask "why" in prepress.

Ya I hear you. Maybe trash preferences, although I've had issues with global before as well but when changing fonts.

OPM1 is uses for overprinting process colors. There is no preference for that kind of setting. It sounds like the objects being affected couldn't take advantage of the setting you were using.
