Overprint standard mode # overprint illustrator mode

I use Acrobat 6.0, Pitstop 6.0.1
When I make action, I see change mode overprint, there are two:
- Standard overprint mode (OPM 0)
- Illustrator overprint mode (OMP 1)
What are the diffirences between OPM 0 and OMP 1.
Thank a lot. Have a good day.

thank!

I went to website you tell. But I don't see any thing about mode overprint (OPM 0: standard overprint mode, OPM1: Ilusstrator mode)
- I don't know when we use OPM 0 or OPM 1.
- I see on Enfocus Pitstop default mode overprint is OPM 0
-Thank a lot. I hope your help.

Hi guys, hit this site

http://createpdf.adobe.com/cgi-feede...?BP=&LOC=en_US

the fourth bullet point down shows that Illuystrator overprint mode allows CMYK colours to overprint

Hope this helps

Hmmm... <<thinking>>

Difference between OPM 1 and 0 is how 'white' objects are handled as far as I know.

For technical info refer to the PDF 1.6 Reference guide

Eg. When you are setting an object colour to "white" 0-0-0-0 CMYK and set OPM 1 with OP enabled (on) the object seemingly vanishes. Changing to OPM 0 would result in a 'knockout' whilst the object is set to overprint.

I think it also relates to PDF version and how RIP handles this.
Someone working more hands-on with RIPs and PDFs would be better suited than me to answer that...

I can't vouch for the reliability of this info.
