Save as in Acrobat 6.0.3 changes PDF version to 1.5

Does anyone know how to keep Acrobat 6.0.3 from changing the PDF version when I do a save as?

I thought I had it set up not to change the version, before my recent crash, but I can't find the setting to do this. :?

Not sure I can really shed any light but I just launched my Acrobat 6.0.2 (don't have the latest yet) and then opened an Adobe PDF file (from their site) and did a save as. when I opened it and went to document properties it said it was Adobe Acrobat 1.3

Don't know why, just is......

The other thing you could do is use the PDF Optimizer in Acrobat to make it compatible with PDF v1.x.

It's the default behavior of Acrobat.

I'm pretty sure there's a setting somewhere to keep it from doing this. It just started changing the PDF version after I trashed preferences and did a reinstall.

My workflow generates PDF 1.3. I open that in Acrobat, prefilght with Pitstop and do a save as. All of my files go through the same procedure. I went back and checked a number of files that I made before the crash and they're all PDF 1.3.

I have a vague memory of a setting that said something like "automatically change PDF version". I'll keep searching.

Found it! It's a Pitstop preference under PDF version, "Prevent the automatic change of the PDF version when saving".
