Change spot colour in Acrobat

Hi,

does anyone know if you can replace a whole spot colour in Acrobat.
So when you see in "Seperation Preview" a Pantone colour 5445, can you change this toPantone 345 for example.

Or can you click on individual items and change the colour this way? I know the long way arround to do this, maybe someone have a good idea how to do it quick in Acrobat.

Please, I know that I can call the printer and tell them to print the plate in another colour, no need for smart comments.

Regards, Dimitri

You can do this in Illustrator as long as you have the fonts and the file isn't too complicated. Otherwise you will need the pitstop plugin to do it "quickly"

tried it in illustrator, but the more complicated pages don't convert properly. And even if they look ok, we would not trust it as it will be a big print run.

We've got pit stop, but could not figure out how to change a colour.

Regards, Dimitri

If you have pitstop it is a pretty straight forward process. The supplied documentation should give pretty good details on what is necessary.

that's a good idea, let's close the forum then, everything is documented somewhere... no need for questions

using pitstop you can use the pitstop pointer tool to select an object of the color you want to change. next you go to edit> global change. from there its pretty easy to figure out. note that this will not change the color in placed images.

Thanks Voodo,

I've got that, I can change the whole spot colour. But our problem was more that we want to change only the 50% fields to 10% but leave the solid 100% fields as they are.
So, actually I am looking for a tool to change the percentage really.

Unfortunally Illustrator is not an option in this case.

Cheers, Dimitri

it's good, but with most things, they more you get, you never stop asking for more.

I was just looking through the action list panel. I didn't set one up, but I would be more than willing to bet you could set up an action list that selects the spot color at certain percentages and change them to whatever other color or percentage you want. If you can't figure out an action list that works, contact Matt Beals>on this forum or at http://www.mattbeals.com/, he can write you an action list.
