Does PDF retain trapping?

We run IND (CS3) and QXP7 on our MacPro-10.4.10. Save as PDF and impose through Inp02.

When we save an IND/CS3 or QXP7 to PDF is the trapping info retained?

We have no trapping liscensing on our Apogee X light RIP. We run to film we have no CTP.

You can trap the PDF out of Indy when you send it to the rip.
Old link but still applies.

Please re-read the post:

"When we save an IND/CS3 or QXP7 to PDF is the trapping info retained?"

We are saving it to a PDF (from QXP or IND) then going to the RIP, not PDF to IND to the RIP...

Well, it should be. Open the PDF and look to see if it is there.

I see no trapping, also no trapping on the film.

Am I saving it the wrong way? File, save as, PDF, OK,....get no trap! Trap was there in IND but it disapears when I go to PDF. Confused here.

You need to Print To File using application trapping, and your output should be
In-Rip Seperations. Once you Distill the result you should be able to see the trap.
That's for Indesign at least. I've never tried it with Quark. Remember that InDesign
will not trap an .eps file.
