DI vs Conventional/ctp
We had a QMDI and we were amazed at what it could do. then we purchased a SM52 and CTP And wow the pressman has a little more work to do, but it is quicker. and I can run the sm52 at 15,000 imp/hr. maybe the new ryobi 52 di is better than our old qmdi, but try to do metallic ink. On the di I would switch between High gloss labels and offset stock I would have to switch from low tack to med tac to get rid of toning issues. Back to cost, for a small shop just getting into 4 color by all means old DI. For under $100,000 you can have a nice setup.
