I have an issue sort of related to the topic, so I thought I'd ask it here.

Basically, we add or convert gray profiles to an client submitted image. We then save it as a PDF and run it through Prinergy.

This is the following problem. When you open the image up in Acrobat, there are four separations for the b&w image. If you use the eye dropper it appears to be in a gray colorspace. Prinergy sees this as four color as well. What are we doing wrong that's not making the PDF just one black separation. When saved w/o a profile, it is single black.

We have a few work arounds (drop in Indy, refine b&w in prinergy), but would just want to fix the issue all together. Is it the profile? Is it the export settings? Something else we're overlooking?

Hope there's a simple explanation for it. Thanks ahead if anyone knows.
