Maybe I'm not quite understanding your scenario, but why does the artist need to rebuild it in Freehand? If you are not comfortable fixing the problems yourself in Photoshop, surely you could just tell her what the problems are and let her just tweak the Photoshop file rather than recreating the file in Freehand?

I'm not trying to be smart with what I'm about to say, but in all seriousness the best way to learn Photoshop is to jump in and you are forced to find solutions in order to make it work. In this business, you have to know Photoshop, and everyone here is willing to help you as long as you try to help yourself.
