well i have a cromalin b2 and i can colour match special colours - except pearlescents and metallics. its simple - you read in a target swatch, print it, tweak the LAB's and repeat until acceptable.
sorry - cant comment on the waterproof system, but my b2 is not cheap at all - each pod is 300 uk sterling - and there's 8 of the suckers in the machine! the paper is expensive as well - but we charge a healthy charge...
she may believe its the only way to proof her packaging - i'm packaging here as well and apart from metallics and pearlescents we can do most colours.
