Overprinting spot colors export

Here's a tricky one....

I've created a nice logo in Illustrator blending spot colors to give depth, etc. I had to use the overprint method and show overprint to get it to work. It works ok at our Apogee rip but when you try and print it to a Docutech it strips away the overprint settings.

Anyway, what I'm trying to do is rasterize the logo in photoshop but the same problem comes up......the overprints do not work even though when I saved the file I checked off the overprint setting. Tried saving as ai as well with no luck.

Any ideas? (I could always take a screenshot on our biggest monitor but I HATE doing that nonsense.)
