We installed a new one like 2 months back and we have already seeing the job volume going up. The press is doing great. We haven't printed any envelopes and was told lot of same thing which other people are discussing in this forum. We do not belive in outsourcing as we like to keep everything inhouse even it costs little more due to quality control and the ability to have full control. We haven't printed any envelopes but I like the idea of changing the blanket. For 4 color envelopes maybe have a 7 day turnaround and run all the envelopes in one shot on a certain day. If people demand faster turnaround then demand more money.
Overall we got the Presstek 34 DI and I have created a forum called dipressforums.com I would love all the expert advices from people to post their ideas on that forum. My idea about that forum is to have a place for discussing about DI presses in general ONLY. Go to
