Epson 7000 - BestColor XL on a PC (every time we use the PC it just confirms we made the right choice when we bought Macs for our main workstations!). We also had the Epson color profiled to our Komori press.
Didn't use our Cromalin after the Epson was installed (3 yrs old now). The difference between the 7000 and the current 7600 is it's a tad quicker and the grayscale output is closer to the final result.
As for waiting for the latest bit of kit - if you have a need to proof why wait? We take the view that as soon as you open the box it's obsolete!
