That may mask the issue on the proof, but if its printing with traditional screening, it could still show up on press, no? Of course, couple that proof with FM screening and its a non-issue. When applying the noise filter, you might try (if you haven't already) using the guassian distribution, which is more random than uniform. A higher res might actually help with subject moir?, but in this case, the pattern is coming from the applied noise, so it night not, though a higher linescreen when output might have an effect. Of course, this post is also over a month old, so the whole deal is likely a dead issue, eh?
