If you want to tag the images in your document, see if you have an action list called Tag Images with ICC. If you edit that action list, you can set the profiles you want. Not sure if it's there in your version of acrobat but maybe you can download it from the enfocus web site. This won't convert the colors though, just tag with profiles.

I've tried quite a box of tricks for converting RGB to CMYK and the results were basically the same as Pitstop. If I left quite a box of tricks with the defaults, the results were terrible. If I selected the ColorSync option and put in the profiles I wanted, the results were good. The exact same thing happens with Pitstop when converting color if you don't set your profiles properly.
